basis and special attention is given
to teaching you all aspects of your
dog's training. Our training program
consists of:
Puppy
Program:
The
Puppy Program is a 2 week long Bird
and Gun Introduction class. Dogs
must be at least 5 months old. Bird
and Gun Introduction is the key step
in starting a companion hunting dog.
This program is designed to bring
out and enhance your canine
companions’ natural instincts.
We will
spend two weeks working on
retrieving birds starting with dead
birds, moving up to clipped wing
birds and finally live flushed
birds. We will evaluate the pointing
skills in the pointing breeds but
the true point will be refined in a
later program once your puppy’s
drive has been allowed to come out.
During
the different phases of the birds,
we add in the different phases of
the firearms ranging from a starting
blank gun to a 12 gauge. This is
done in progressive steps and
amounts over the phase of two weeks
to develop a positive gun and bird
relationship.
All dogs
in this program are worked on a
check cord to develop a retrieve.
All phases of this program are
positive and fun to bring out the
drive and natural desire of each
individual puppy.
The
Intermediate Program:
This program is designed to give
your canine companion one on one
attention. We will establish on and
off leash control of your canine
companion. This will give you
control of your canine companion
both at home and in the field. We
will establish a whistle recall and
quartering skills.
We will force fetch your canine
companion for a finish to heel
delivery and hold. Pointing breeds
will also work on pointing and whoa
commands. Your key part in this
program is to attend your three
lessons so that you may establish
team work between yourself and your
canine companion.
The lessons will go over the
commands and steps you need to know
to keep your companion’s skills
sharp. These lessons will be
approximately an hour and a half
long. The lessons will be scheduled
on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays
and occasionally on Saturdays from
8:00am to 3:30pm.
